Synergy AI, a Belgian startup incubated within Start it @KBC, today announced the launch of its platform dedicated to the execution of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions. Designed specifically for the European market, the solution centralises the entire transaction lifecycle, from the initial mandate through due diligence, including risk analysis, compliance, valuation, and document management.
While investment banks, private equity firms, family offices, and advisory firms have traditionally relied on multiple service providers and software solutions, Synergy AI brings the entire process together within a single integrated environment. Another distinguishing feature is the platform’s ability to support not only corporate transactions but also two additional asset classes: real estate and financial assets, including artworks, jewellery, and collector vehicles.
M&A, a rapidly growing market
The launch comes at a time when the European M&A market is regaining momentum. According to several industry studies published in recent months, transaction values across Europe increased in 2025, with particularly strong growth recorded in the Benelux region. “The primary driver behind this trend is demographic. The baby boomer generation is reaching the end of its professional journey and is inevitably beginning to transfer assets to the next generations,” said Sacha Vandermeersch, Co-Founder and CEO of Synergy AI.

However, the market is facing unprecedented operational complexity. “A European deal is not simply an American deal translated into three languages; it involves multiple legal systems, multiple registries, and multiple regulators within a single transaction,” Vandermeersch added.
Jean-Louis Lauwers, Co-Founder and CTO of Synergy AI, continued: “We created Synergy AI to address precisely this reality. This is particularly important today in Belgium, where, according to the latest M&A Monitor published by Vlerick Business School, 49% of transactions ultimately close at a lower price than the initial offer. In an environment where valuations are under pressure, professionals need agile tools that enable them to validate assumptions quickly and reliably while securing their deals.”
While most financial technologies currently available originate from Anglo-Saxon markets and were designed for single-jurisdiction environments, Synergy AI has deliberately adopted a European-first approach. The platform ensures strict GDPR compliance and is tailored to the legal specificities of European markets, with an initial focus on the Benelux and Western Europe.
Founded in February 2026 by a team bringing together transaction specialists, compliance experts, and software engineers, Synergy AI is already supporting several active mandates across Western Europe, representing a combined transaction value of approximately €500 million.
